The Clintons’ Ability to Corrupt Anything Flexes Its Muscles
I oppose many GOP and Trump policies and am not a supporter of the president or of his current political party. My political perspectives are to the left of the Democratic Party but I refuse to accept the unjustifiable complete perversion of our already perverted political system and mainstream media without a challenge. I am not a Trump apologist, rather, I am a Trump political opponent but not somnambulant, thus, I strive to preserve some semblance of a political system that addresses real issues involving attainment of the common welfare domestically and peace internationally. This article addresses what I perceive as much greater social and civic threats than policies with whose premises I disagree. Threats not within the context of our political institutions but to our political institutions themselves. Threats that originate from a power couple too many of us hoped had finally left us.
Mr. Trump reflects policies I oppose, although during his campaign I did support the idea of minimizing conflicts abroad, especially those involving nuclear armed Russia and China, I supported the idea of ending foreign invasions and attempts at nation building abroad, I supported the rejection of purported free trade agreements that hurt the public in all countries involved and helped only multinational privateers, and, I supported a shift in spending priorities from military adventures to repairing or dangerously decaying infrastructure. I rejected virtually everything else but noted that it was virtually indistinguishable from his principle opponent’s proposals, but even more so, historical record. I voted for Jill Stein and my second choice would have been the Libertarian Party ticket, although I would have reversed its candidates’ spots on the ticket. I was intrigued by candidate Sanders’ economic positions but unhappy with his militaristic foreign policy history. In essence, like most other Americans, I found it incredible that the two major parties had so little respect and so much disrespect for the electorate, that they would foist two such terrible candidates upon us, each threatening us with greater evil fears should we elect to vote our consciences. The foregoing needs to be stated so that the following is accurately placed in context.
For those who either believe or just claim to believe that the Clintons are now gone and can do no further damage to our ethics, safety or wellbeing, think again. They and their shills, very powerful shills but still shills, are flexing their muscles more blatantly than ever. In that regard it should be clarified that as used, the term “shills” is not meant to encompass naively true believers in Clintonian beneficence but rather those rather more cold blooded coconspirators, especially among the mainstream media, the financial and commercial elites and the intelligence community — military industrial complex.
So, … back to the hypothesis of this article, the continuing stench of unabated Clintonian amorality that seems to be spreading like an airborne virus; the distortion of reality in an omnivorous quest for power that characterizes the Clinton phenomenon and the means being employed to somehow recapture it. The power of blatant, in your face, hypocrisy and disdain for truth and objectivity and its frightening prospects for either success or disastrous failure.
Case in point. Today’s edition (June 12, 2017) of the hysterically hyperbolic anti-Trump “news”. The mainstream media and Democratic Party’s blatant hypocrisy with reference to their recent revelations that Donald Trump Jr. was “happy” at the possibility of receiving negative information about the Clintons from purported Russian criminal investigations into her misconduct relating to the 2016 presidential campaign. Amazing, perhaps even awe inspiring in its sheer chutzpah. As though opposition research were an outrageous anomaly in modern politics, or research into allegations of corruption and wrong doing a breach of existing legal and ethical standards. As though that were not exactly the almost entire focus of those who now criticize such conduct, albeit with Mr. Trump rather than the Clintons as the target.
To repeat the foregoing somewhat more specifically, the Democrats and the mainstream media are implying, no alleging, no, shouting, … that looking for “dirt” on the Clintons is somehow illegal and inappropriate while they themselves have been engaged for a year and a half in a massive effort to do so with respect to Mr. Trump and his family, and from any and all sources, including “senior Russian government officials (recall the contemporaneous Trump Dossier) and US government officials engaged in criminal leaks of classified information. They make the GOP’s unfair attacks on president Obama and its ludicrous legislative obstructionism seem like good natured ribbing.
Politics has always been considered a dirty game but not quite an “all’s fair” as in love or war game. There have usually been limits, both ethical and legal. For now, however, those seem to have disappeared. Perhaps it’s our own fault. Are we really so dumb or so ethically challenged that we cannot see through what is going on, especially with reference to this latest example? If we are to salvage at least some of our democracy the real issue is the blatant media and Democratic Party malice and their related insults to our integrity and intelligence as they seek to orchestrate a “soft” coup which would forever subvert our political system, perhaps seeing themselves as a modern Praetorian Guard tasked with selecting a continuing stream of future figurehead political leaders (or continuing that practice, now usually the norm). The probability is that they will either succeed or unleash a counter-reaction by the current administration. One which would make their purported nightmare a reality (their nightmare being some other group attaining the dictatorial power they themselves crave). As they skate closer and closer to actual treason, perhaps even crossing the line (but for now with impunity), we seem to be approaching a critical juncture with no positive possibilities, at least for “We the People”, and certainly not for the prospect of preserving at least the appearance and vestiges of democracy we now purportedly “enjoy”.
Is this what it felt like as the Roman Republic spiraled down towards its epochal civil wars?
Unfortunately, given the radical polarization in which we find ourselves it has not been hard for the mainstream media, the Democratic Party and the Deep State to corrupt even many of the best among us and that is a real and present danger, not only to our democracy but also to our survival as a species. It’s as though power were a heroin like addiction and the mainstream media and the Democratic Party were in terminal withdrawal, willing to risk anything for a fix (we being the principle component of the “anything”).
We need some form of inoculation against this disease but those charged with protecting us are thoroughly infected. It’s as though zombies were real and they were winning, and we were running out of space and time, but that malevolent hypnotists among us were repeating “you are getting tired, your eyelids are getting heavier and heavier, you just can’t stay awake, ….”
Well, … WAKE UP!!!!!! Please.
